Stolen Purse…or stealing purse…

Stolen Purse…or stealing purse…

Another day in the city of Florence. We woke up to pouring rain…actually I saw a flash through my eyelids and wondered what it was and then thunder shook the windows and Deeanna woke up and sat straight up in bed saying “what was that”. Thunder, lightning and rain…sounded like a good reason to head back to bed. So we did till 11:30am. Then we got up and decided to head to Boboli Gardens, across the river. We decided to give our feet a rest and ride the bus, but we had to walk to the bus stop. Along the way we were suckered in by those vicious vendors. I guess there are “legal” vendors…with their little carts, and those with the blankets on the ground under their things. Well, Deeanna decided she wanted one of the purses from the illegal vendors. She was holding it in her hand and the guy told her 35 Euros. She said no 10 Euros. He said 15 Euros. She said I only have 10 because I have to eat with my other money. He laughed. Then his face changed. He grabbed his sheet up with all his purses and started to take off telling her come with me. She started to follow and then they took off running again as the police came running after them. So she was left standing there with the purse. She tried to find them but couldn’t so she got the 35 Euro purse for 0 Euro’s since we then couldn't find them to pay for the purse.  Then we went and found the little bus (small bus) and took it over to the Petti Palace where the Boboli Gardens were located. Lots more stairs to climb...who needs a stairmaster in Italy?
Lots of beautiful statues outside, fountains, and sculptured gardens and inside more art work from a man that lived in the small house above the palace gardens.  Very intricite work.
Look at the beads on her necklace and the work around the basket.  And below the cat is oblivious to everything and everyone around her - since she found heat on a cold day, on the gift shop counter top of the palace.
And then a muesum with items from the palace I would assume and beautiful ceilings in the palace.
He's almost as handsome as me - yet another stone cold personality I have a feeling...
And then for the weird Grotto made to resemble sand at the seashore when you drop it from a cup wet to form towers on the sand....
ceiling of building with "drippings" coming in from hole in top (to match drippings on statues on sides of walls)
Eventually the sun came out and we didn’t get rained on after I purchased a 3 Euro umbrella that basically is flat on top and not round like ours. LOL We came home a little early to find a laundry mat for Deeanna (who washed her jeans in sink and then they haven’t dried after 3 days. We didn’t find it and ended up back “home”. We have to pack up tonight and we will be off to Rome tomorrow on the 10:40 train (if we don’t miss it) LOL Another fun day.  Please pray our train is not late and that we make it to Rome on time as the person with our apartment says we have to be there by no later then 12:59pm or we won't get our room for that first night.  Our train gets in at 12:13pm.  IF it's running on time and then we have to take the metro a few stops to get there.  European Traveler - Kyla
And yet again another "dinky" car (we saw a BMW that looked like a mini cooper) and yet again...a toilet with a missing seat.
